| Description: | Initial rates for the hydrolysis of the thioester substrate were used for assessing the catalytic activity and inhibition of the MMPs by the spectrophotometric method. The change of absorbance at 405 nm was monitored. The inhibition constant Ki was then determined by using Easson-Stedman plots and a linear regression program. |
